At Gray Day Housing Foundation, we believe a safe, stable home creates the foundation for everything that comes next. The Critical Need

Housing instability is affecting families throughout Hampton Roads. Approximately half of the region's renters are spending 30% or more of their income on housing, leaving many households with little room for life's unexpected expenses.

For a family already stretching every dollar, a car repair, reduction in work hours, childcare expense, or other unexpected setback can quickly become the difference between paying rent and facing a housing crisis.

Gray Day Housing Foundation exists to help close that gap. Through eviction prevention, temporary-to-permanent housing solutions, financial education, case management, and connections to community resources, we help individuals and families move beyond crisis and toward lasting housing stability.

We are building pathways to housing stability that meet individuals and families wherever they are, from preventing the loss of a home to helping someone transition from temporary housing into a permanent place to call home.

Housing Stability & Eviction Prevention: Providing timely assistance and resources to help individuals and families experiencing housing crises remain safely housed whenever possible.
Temporary to Permanent Housing: Connecting people experiencing homelessness or housing instability with safe temporary options while helping them navigate the path toward stable, permanent housing.
Supportive Services & Financial Empowerment: Providing individualized case management, financial literacy workshops, resource navigation, and other practical supports that help individuals and families build long-term stability and independence.
