Not every student arrives with a perfect GPA or a polished story. At IYT Nevada, we serve the young men who are often referred to but rarely celebrated. Students whose brilliance hasn’t yet been recognized because systems weren’t built for them to thrive.

They don’t always raise their hands first. But they show up.

And when they walk through our doors, by choice, they find something powerful: belonging.

In our inaugural year, we proudly partnered with Western and Eldorado High School to create safe, culturally affirming spaces for 100 young men of color to be mentored, challenged, and deeply supported as they pursue their education and future. Our students choose to step into a community rooted in brotherhood, accountability, and belief; Even if the world hasn’t yet believed in them.

Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of young men of color who attend and graduate from college through its 12-year College Academy model. In Nevada and across the nation, IYT provides afterschool programs that combine mentorship, academic support, and leadership development to address chronic absenteeism, low GPA, and disengagement among young men of color—particularly those below a 2.0 GPA. Through case management, meals, college tours, and parent engagement, IYT fosters a sense of belonging and accountability that helps keep students in school. Nationally, IYT has reduced chronic absenteeism by 20%, achieved a 99.6% graduation rate, and continues to develop the next generation of college-bound leaders.
