Film Media Literacy Education is Mental Health Equity Work.

Aligned with the framework of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, we recognize that health is not only physical—it is deeply influenced by environment, narrative, and access to opportunity.

We equip youth with three transformative tools:

Critical Thinking → Teaching young people how to read images, question narratives, and recognize manipulation
Narrative Awareness → Replacing deficit-based thinking with truth, context, and self-definition
Filmmaking Skills → Empowering youth to create their own stories and reclaim their voice

When a young person understands how media works, they are no longer controlled by it.

They become authors of their identity, not subjects of someone else’s story.

The 6-Week Summer Intensive — Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn (2026)

This summer, we are launching a 6-week youth film media literacy intensive in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn—a historic community rich in culture, resilience, and legacy, now facing rapid displacement and narrative erasure.

This program will provide:

Daily hands-on filmmaking training
Film media literacy workshops grounded in critical analysis
Drone storytelling and emerging tech exposure
Real-world production experience
Mentorship from working artists and educators
A platform for youth to screen their work publicly

This is not enrichment.
