The Journey of Alex Reed: A Penn State Alum's Fight for a Kidney and a Brighter Future

In the bustling college town of State College, Pennsylvania, Alex Reed, a proud Penn State alum and a devoted sports enthusiast, found joy and purpose on the baseball diamond and the golf course. With a heart as big as his love for the game, Alex dedicated his life to building a strong community and sharing his passion for sports with others.

Tragically, Alex's world came to a sudden halt when he was diagnosed with a severe kidney condition that required an urgent transplant. Just two weeks after his college graduation from Penn State, Altoona, his kidneys failed, and he faced a daunting journey towards finding a life-saving kidney transplant. With unwavering determination and the support of his loved ones, Alex embarked on a mission to find a matching kidney donor.

After two challenging years, a living donor selflessly stepped forward and saved Alex's life by giving him a kidney. This incredible gift provided him with seven remarkable years of life and living. During this time, Alex continued to embrace his passions, cherish moments with family and friends, and contribute to his family insurance business.

However, the harsh reality is that Alex's current kidney is now failing, and he finds himself once again in desperate need of another transplant. At 33 years old, with so much life left to live, he yearns to continue sharing meaningful experiences, making memories, and pursuing his dreams. A dialysis machine is currently keeping him alive, requiring him to spend four hours a day, four days a week, connected to the machine.

Now, more than ever, Alex needs our help to find a matching kidney donor that will enable him to move forward and embrace a brighter future. Together, we can make a life-changing difference for Alex and others in need.
