We are Hoping for Heat for the fall of 2024!

Last February, the boiler for our front hallway stopped working. We got it repaired and all was well for a few weeks, when it stopped again, this time with an emergency visit from the fire department because of steam building up. So we shut it down for the remainder of the season and tried to get by using smaller electric heaters, but the power consumption was simply too much for our building. We blew a lot of breakers and wore a lot of layers as we waiting for springtime.

Throughout the summer we've been having different folks come out to look at it and the overall consensus is that it is no longer safe to repair, so we have been gathering estimates on installing a different type of system - one that is more efficient, safer, better for the environment and will be able to be moved to a new location in the future!

Our goal is to raise $75,000 is donations and to match that amount with grants. (Thank you to Visit Durango for our first grant award of $10,000!)

Please consider helping us in this endeavor and bringing heat back to our tenants! Tenants affected include the Clothing Closet, Pine River Shares, Blue Sage Art, Native Love, HSC Training, Big Brothers Big Sisters, SoCoAA (Ignacio Youth Services), the Sexual Assault Services Organization (SASO), JT's Studio and NCB Printing as well as our La Plata Electric Round Up Foundation Activity Center.
