Since 1976, SBSHC has been a home for students from all backgrounds, offering affordable housing and a cooperative community built on inclusion, mutual aid, and lifelong learning. Our cooperatives provide a rare and intentional safe(r) space for queer and POC individuals in Isla Vista, where such spaces are scarce.

But today, the future of the co-ops is at risk.

This past year, rising costs and unexpected renovation expenses have hit us hard, outpacing our rental rate increases. Now, we’re facing a $40,000 shortfall that must be filled by June 30th.
