Since our start in 2014 WHIV-FM has been broadcasting the music and talk that move New Orleans and the world towards a more just future. We have hosted dozens of community leaders and DJs on radio programs you won't find anywhere else, from Judge Calvin Johnson's "Nola Matters" to the late great Gina Brown's "G's Corner". We are the beating heart of community progress that's unique to New Orleans, and nobody else is working to amplify that heartbeat like WHIV-FM.

So yeah, we're trying to raise $10,230. You know it's not a random number, but it's specific for reasons you might not expect. This is how much (give or take) we've figured out the station needs to upgrade key equipment and prepare for the coming year. We are working hard to upgrade our ability to deliver content to our listeners online so that soon you will soon be able to listen to your favorite shows at any time. And, there will be more of that change-making content on the airwaves as we are working with the brilliant community leaders of New Orleans to generate new shows that will ne shining beacons of justice-focused radio content.

Community radio is more important than ever - in a world dominated by media monopolies and antagonistic algorithms WHIV's by the people, for the people programming is the authentic breath of fresh air we need. We're gearing up to expand our programs and your donation will directly support:

New community training programs to equip the next generation of radio hosts, starting with the OUTLoud LGBTQ+ youth radio/podcast accelerator program
Necessary broadcast equipment upgrades to improve the quality and online availability of our programs
Capacity-building investments that will help us upgrade our website, social media, and ability to fundraise
Increased marketing and outreach to New Orleans communities' - our voice needs to keep being LOUD!
