Help Us Provide Trauma-Focused Therapy to Those in Need

Mental health is the #1 health priority in Charlotte. According to the 2022 health assessment, mental health topped the list of the most pressing health issues facing Mecklenburg residents—surpassing even access to care and violence prevention. Yet, despite its critical importance, many people in our community still lack access to the support they need to heal from trauma.

At The FACTS Initiative, we are committed to filling this gap by providing high-quality, trauma-focused therapy to those who need it most. Our Community Partnership Program connects underserved individuals—particularly those affected by homelessness, abuse, and human trafficking—with vital mental health services.

In collaboration with our local partners, including Families Forward, Angels and Sparrows, The Harvest Center, A Fresh Start, and Pat's Place Collaborative, we bring therapy directly to children and families in crisis. We understand that trauma affects not only the individual but also the entire family and community, and we aim to break the cycles of trauma, abuse, and poverty that persist across generations.

But we can’t do it alone.

To continue offering this critical service, we need your help. Our goal is to raise $12,000 to fund 200 therapy sessions for those in need. Each $60 you contribute will provide one therapy session, offering healing and hope to individuals who are often overlooked by traditional mental health services.

Why This Matters:

1 in 5 adults in Mecklenburg County has been diagnosed with depression.
1 in 5 high school students seriously consider suicide each year.
The suicide rate for Black youth has risen by 39% in the past year.
Emergency visits for suicide attempts among children have increased by 20%.
