Registration ($15) includes Ten Ren's food, Fair Trade t-shirts*, raffles, sunset pictures, and memorial candle boats while showing solidarity for the human right to pursue happiness.
Who: UMD Students Ending Slavery and Terps for New Horizons
Where: University of Maryland, College Park - McKeldin Mall (sundial)
When: Sunday, April 2nd, 6pm - 8pm
Why: Raising money for organizations and awareness about causes that reinforce our common desire for dignity and unity for all individuals.
How Much: Registration fee is $15. *Only the first 50 registrants will receive t-shirts!
What to Bring: If you are registering at the race, please bring some form of payment (Venmo or cash). We will provide food and refreshments, but please bring your own water bottle (we will have a limited amount of water to distribute, but we want to be as environmentally friendly and conservative as possible)!
All profits will be split between Students Ending Slavery (SES) and Terps for New Horizons to support human trafficking survivors and refugees assimilating into the U.S., respectively. SES's portion will be donated to the SAFE Center, and Terps for New Horizon's will put their funds toward growing New Horizons, Inc.
Check in/on-site registration will begin at 6 pm and the run will begin at 6:30 pm. The route will go around North Campus, and as we near sunset we will be offering photographs and candle boats to symbolize solidarity and hope.
Come out and run (or walk) for freedom and humanity!
Donations of any amount are more than welcome! You will only receive a t-shirt and food if you donate at least $15, but more or less is perfectly acceptable and appreciated. Also, if you would like to attend but do not want to walk or run, we are always open to volunteers!
