VOICES FOR CHANGE Screening & Discussion Series is a program from Women's Voices Now bringing community together around social impact films and catalyzing conversations for change-making. Each event will feature a film from the Women's Voices Now Film Collection and the filmmaker in discussion for an online long program.

Women's Voices Now is proud to partner with the creators of the film Behind the Rage for this important screening and discussion.

Women’s rights activist and documentary director Deeyah Khan examines the epidemic of violence and abuse against women in America today by speaking to the men who perpetrate violence, including men who have killed their female partners. She asks if, behind the rage, rehabilitation and change is possible.

In America, most female homicide victims are killed by their current or former partner and one in 4 women experience domestic violence or abuse. In this documentary Peabody and Emmy-winning filmmaker Deeyah Khan asks a simple question: is it possible to reduce these endemic levels of male violence? In search of an answer, she hears heartfelt testimonies from survivors and victims’ families, and gets vital insights from social workers and psychologists who work with violent men. And she speaks to those whose voices are rarely heard in conversations about domestic violence yet hold the key to stopping it: the perpetrators themselves.

The Women’s Voices Now Film Collection raises awareness of the struggles and triumphs of women and girls around the globe, inviting audience members to contribute to positive social change supportive of their rights.
