Local individuals, leaders, businesses, and more than 100 community partners came together to fully fund our capital campaign and build the new Evans Building—without taking on a mortgage. It’s clear that families on the northern Outer Banks value what WEVS provides.

As we turn from building space to strengthening what happens inside it, we’re focused on rebuilding our financial safety net so we can maintain small class sizes, support our teachers, and meet the needs of every student who walks through our doors.

Your support helps sustain the school our community worked so hard to build—ensuring WEVS can keep serving Corolla’s families for years to come.

We are especially grateful for the people, places, and partnerships that make this little school thrive.

Our students arrive each morning curious, focused, and eager to learn — the joy in their classrooms is unmistakable.
Our teachers continue to meet each child exactly where they are, guiding with care and creativity.
Our new school building — alive with energy, purpose, and debt-free — is now a hub of learning and community.
And you — our supporters — continue to show up in meaningful ways. From Corolla Cup competitors to Chapel golf outing participants to generous individual and business donors, your belief in WEVS fuels everything we do.

Most importantly, we’re seeing results: WEVS students achieved the highest overall proficiency scores of all 16 elementary and middle schools in Currituck and Dare Counties.
