Hello Friends of Animals!

It's that time of year so here I am again with my annual birthday fundraiser for our very own Starland Animal Sanctuary!

A little background info...: my husband Scott and I are lifelong animal lovers and so at some point we each followed the next logical step and went vegan so as to no longer support the exploitation and suffering of animals for human purposes. Then we decided it wasn't enough to just not eat animals... We wanted to do more to help them so in 2021 we started a small animal sanctuary at our home near Savannah, Georgia! Today we provide sanctuary to 62 chickens, plus 5 pigs... 5 dogs... 6 domestic cat... 3 barn cats... and 3 guinea pigs. We have a big family and it takes a lot to provide everyone with the love and care they each deserve! So Scott continues to work full time in IT, and I've been working as a substitute teacher. We also receive donations occasionally in the form of financial gifts or supplies from our Amazon WishList. And we have a few in-person fundraiser events throughout the year. But most of our animal-care funds come right out of our own pockets. Life can be a bit challenging and crazy at times, but we are fortunate to have some very supportive friends & family. And seeing these animals happy and healthy, living out their lives as naturally as possible, makes it all worth it!
